Analytic Project Management of Boston, MA, (a PMI Global Registered Education Provider) was founded in 1992 by Stephen A. Devaux, PMP. Devaux is Adjunct Professor of Project Management in the graduate degree program at Brandeis University, and Adjunct Lecturer in Project Management at The University of the West Indies at Cave Hill, Barbados. Additionally, his courses are the basis for many of the Continuing Education classes in project management at University of Massachusetts, Lowell.

A former project manager of corporate training, Devaux has spent 20 years training and consulting with Fortune 500 clients in industries including aerospace /defense, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, nuclear power and energy, construction, software development, and telecom. He is the creator of the Total Project Control (TPC) methodology, numerous new schedule-related metrics, and author of many articles and webinars on project management. Devaux's book Total Project Control: A Manager's Guide to Integrated Project Planning, Measuring and Tracking (John Wiley & Sons, 1999) is used as a text in many graduate courses.

Devaux also has a strange mind that leads him to be an avid fan of Dostoevsky, West Indies cricket, baseball statistical analysis, and the composition of palindromes.
